Senior Credit Officer

Duties

Credit Risk Management: Identify, measure and manage credit risk across the bank's portfolio. Make informed decisions on complex credit issues, balancing risk and reward to support the Bank’s financial goals.   Review and audit credit files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies, state statutes and regulatory requirements.  Conduct thorough financial analyses of complex credits.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor credit analysts, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance. Implement processes which ensure policy compliance, report accuracy and completeness.

Reporting: Report on the credit portfolio's performance, risks, and trends to senior management and regulatory bodies.

Policy Development: Develop and update credit policies and guidelines, stay informed about economic trends and market conditions that could impact the Bank's credit portfolio and adjust strategies accordingly.

Technology: Manage credit administration vendor relationships; periodically evaluate current and potential credit-related technology solutions.

Problem Credits: Participate with loan officers in servicing weak credits; identify potential problem credits and develop strategies to improve non-performing loans; assist in the compilation of loan status reports and implementation of loan action plans.

Requirements

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from a four-year college or university; ten years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work-related experience should consist of a financial analysis or lending background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.

Knowledge of agricultural, commercial, real estate, and consumer lending and operations, including loan risk rating, portfolio monitoring, asset recovery, and loan work outs.

Mastered credit analysis skills with extensive knowledge of loan structure, pricing and collateral analysis.

Knowledge of related state and federal lending and compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies.

Well-developed people and process management skills. Positive leadership style and strong personal initiative. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to translate organizational goals into operational results.

Advanced skills in computer operation; host computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software programs.

Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan department or Bank activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, and developing policies and procedures); initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department or Bank activities; coaching employees towards the desired objectives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
